Sefarad has been published since 1941. It was established as a journal of Hebrew and Judaic Studies by Francisco Cantera Burgos (Madrid) and José María Millás Vallicrosa (Barcelona). It appears semi-annually, with about a total of 500 pages of original articles and book reviews on Philology and Textual criticism of the Hebrew Bible (and its various translations, transcriptions and Commentaries); Philology and Linguistics of the Hebrew and Aramaic Languages; History and Culture of the Jews in Spain; and Language, Literature and the Cultural Creativity of the Sephardim.
