Arbor, the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas's general journal on science, thought and culture, was founded in 1944 by José López Ortiz. Its name comes from the tree of science, or Arbor Scientiae, used by Ramón Llull (C14) to represent the various branches of knowledge. Arbor is a multi-disciplinary journal serving the scientific community and society as a mechanism for knowledge transfer. It primarily publishes scientific studies reviewing and updating current topics of interest to society. It comprises "thematic" and "changes" sections, and includes bibliographical reviews. It is published in electronic format only.
