Research2ALL aims to bring closer researchers’ career to the general public (focusing on young people) by allowing a deep understanding of research and innovation by organising interactive programmes and communication activities. Research2ALL aims at creating environmental consciousness in society showing the key role of research and innovation in addressing local and global societal challenges and so their essential part of our everyday life. Through raising awareness of circular economy processes the project will contribute to the objectives of European Green Deal and the call of MSCA and Citizens 2023. Bay Zoltán Nonprofit Ltd. for Applied Research, and Hungarian Association of Environmental Enterprises will use their wide range of experiences in scientific communication to attract the most possible participants – pupils, students, teachers, adults, families, researchers, experts and professionals. During the Research2ALL programmes researchers’, innovators, scientists (e.g. MSCA grant holders) will be involved with a special attention to female participants and researchers. The project will cover 3 big cities in Hungary with 3500-4000 visitors in the Nights, where next to green topics (e.g. EU-corner, Green Deal aims and their achievement; raw materials, circular economy, smart solutions, e-mobility, research careers) all separate venues will develop a lot of programmes introducing their professional specialization themes in research. Researchers at school will include a Scientific Roadshow throughout the country visiting schools of smaller settlements supplemented with a nationwide scientific award competition. Through its awareness raising campaign, Research2ALL delivers the main message of ERN to as many members of society as possible with offering interactive social events (e.g. Science Cafés, round table discussions with professionals) and with use of modern communication tools (streaming, social media, podcasts, etc.) and a strong media campaign.

The Hungarian higher education system is renowned for its excellence, both in technical and social sciences. However, many graduates do not find appropriate jobs in the country. Young researchers are often employed in poorly paid temporary positions with a low chance of finding stable employment in a reasearch institution. For them, information and assistance with European opportunities is crucial and can be instrumental in the continuation of their career as a researcher. The Association of Hungarian Women in Science – a Civil Society Organisation – together with EURAXESS Bridgehead Bay Zoltan Ltd. and the Central European University (CEU) will jointly organise a series of Inspiring Science Workshops and a large-scale ERA Mobility and Career Day in Budapest to enhance the career prospects of graduate students and young researchers from all fields of science. The events will be hosted by the partners with the latter taking place in the campus of CEU. Research organisations from several countries, international organisations and multinational companies will be invited to inform the participants on European research funding and career opportunities offered by them in a job fair format. Pre-arranged interactive meetings between the employers and potential employees will complement the fair. Practical workshops on career development (CV drafting, interview tactics, presentation skills), information sessions addressing the EURAXESS portal, career resources, personalized assistance tools to overcome the barriers of researchers’ mobility will maximize the knowledge of young researchers and students and help them starting a career in European research institutions. A workshop on Responsible Research and Innovation, with special regard to gender issues, will target all participants. The project will offer students and young researchers in Hungary better knowledge about European job and funding opportunities, and will contribute to providing more researchers for ERA.

The main objective of our FAWORIT proposal is twofold: 1) to show the public how researchers with their innovative solutions affect our daily lives; 2) to encourage the youth – with a special focus on girls – to embark on scientific careers by involving young innovators in our programmes. Our main target group is students between the age of 8-20, but we aim to address all age groups with attractive programmes. Some novelties of our project: offering challenge-oriented activities – each of our 18 venues will present their innovative solutions related to interdisciplinary societal challenges; focussing on the concept of Responsible Research and Innovation - the audience will be informed about key elements of RRI, thus creating better understanding and fostering future involvement; launching “Science in the City” – a flash mob like activity, involving the public in spectacular experiments. We will apply an integrated approach in our project in which interdisciplinary challenges, innovative solutions, (young) researchers, their work and hobbies will be presented in an interactive, educating and entertaining way. The target audience can thus discover that being a researcher is cool and creative; researchers, but and young innovators are amongst us. Our objective is to have around 30000 visitors at the events, but a multiple of that number (around 500000) will see, hear or read about the Night. We intend to raise awareness of the European engagement in R&I; in the European Corners and at each venue related programmes of the European Union (FP7, H2020, especially MSCA) will be visible. The structure of the consortium: an innovative SME, a state-owned applied research institution, a highly innovative large company, a scientific association with a broad network of local member institutions all over Hungary and an independent think tank established by economists and sociologists together with numerous contributing partners of all kinds will ensure the success of the project.

Looking over the Horizon - horizontal priorities in research and in everyday challenges of the researchers' career! The main objective of “FAWORIT 2014-2015” is to overcome the prevailing stereotypes about researchers and contribute to the enhancement of their public recognition through aspects of innovation, gender, mobility, international research and lifelong learning. We address the future generation and show the attractiveness of research career – with a special awareness campaign with developing „SciMotion” with our industrial and school partners. We focus on the target group from the age of 5 to 24, but we aim to address all age groups with attractive programmes. The series of events at 20 locations will focus on the Researcher through his/her career and the lively experiences of scientific life. The public will be “edutained” during the Nights: scientific presentations will be mixed with entertaining elements. There is going to be e.g. an „IQ obstacle race”, an exhibition of researchers’ hobbies, a laser show and HiTech Pubs. The target audience can thus discover that the life of the researcher is fascinating, cool and attractive. Our objective is to have around 20,000 visitors at the events, but a multiple of that number (around 500,000) will see, hear or read about the Nights. We are planning to raise awareness of the European engagement in R&D&I with the active participation of MC Fellows. In the European Corners and at each venue related programmes of the European Union and the Marie Curie Actions will be visible. The structure of the consortium (stakeholders from academia and industry, from non-profit and for-profit organizations, with the contributing participation of schools, a cluster, a multinational company and a media partner), the elaborated concept/workplan and the involvement of strategic media partners will guarantee the success of the project. We are also keen on to participate in the celebration of the10th anniversary of Researchers’ Night.
