    FESTA has the overall objective to foster local energy investments on public buildings (primarily in schools, a significant target in Italy for energy efficiency) and to spread the PPP approach also through the innovative, for the context, Energy Performance Contracts (EPC) in convergence regions. The main specific objectives of the proposed action are: 1. to define technical, financial, legal and administrative specifications of a package of investments that are economically sustainable and attractive for private investors; 2. to assess a PPP scheme and to define an EPC model for the energy efficiency of public buildings, also to create better condition to renewal this aged (> 30 years) buildings; 3. to publish the call for tender and to procure the bundled investments through EPC and sign the investment contracts; 4. to become a best practice for the mobilisation of local energy investments of the area where municipalities are preparing the SEAPs (Province of Matera – leader of this project – is the coordinator); 5. to share all this advances with local actors and other MLEI European partners. Specifically, the project (regarding a complex of schools in Matera and in Policoro with the neighboring hospital) aims to experiment, with technological and method approaches, the achievement of the objective that all schools in the area become “climate neutral” by 2020. The project also aim to generate capacity building in the field of renewable energy and energy saving through: • the inter-institutional collaboration between different public authorities to increase the interventions scale (that is very important considering both the small average size of the local administrations and the low population density); • the development of approaches that pay special attention to the potential of the PPP in the field of energy; • better understanding of the features that this kind of projects should have in order to be attractive to both lenders and ESCOs.

    The DELTA project proposes the design and development of an open course that combines the physical space of the excavation field with the digital space (virtual excavation, online learning) with the aid of the new technology. More specifically, the project proposes the development of an innovative course that will train students in digital and 21st century competences and the use of new technologies in Archaeology, will promote the Archaeological Excavation into an educational means (and offer an innovative educational experience with the assistance of new technologies, such as DB, GIS, laser –scanning, 3d models, digitalization, digital storytelling, augmented and virtual reality, and management of archaeological findings) and will provide theoretical knowledge of documentation standards in implementing Culture Conventions and EU legislation that allow for combatting the illicit trafficking of cultural objects, the protection and promotion of cultural and natural heritage. The main target group of the project will be HE teachers/students of Archaeology at EU level. The course will support a blended learning process through an open platform (online learning) as well as face to face and on-site learning with a transnational mobility of students and their professors of Archaeology. The archaeologists like other cultural professionals need to up skill and be trained in new methods and tools in order to manage, document, preserve and promote the findings during and after the excavation field. In accordance to the European policies, we believe that a further integration and cooperation is needed between the HEIS across Europe, so to improve and the quality and effectiveness of their curricula and methods of excavation as well as the implementation of new technology in the archaeological sector. HEIs that participate in the project will enhance their offer to young archaeologists, as University students, enabling them to cope with a massive introduction of technology in this sector. The project operational objectives will be:•the co-design and co-development (with HEIs) of new (or improved ones) training to fill the gap in the curriculum of initial and continuing training for Archaeology with regards to the management, documentation and preservation of cultural heritage; •The training of HE professors and students in order enable them to make use of the new technology;•The evaluation of the devised online tools/trainings with HE students in order to fine-tune the product and methodology and the delivery capacity of trainers;In DELTA project will be designed and developed a series of elements, meaning that it will include online training through platform and on - site training with practical assignments in the excavation. The course will be structured in a way to offer the appropriate knowledge through lessons, offered already by the Universities that participate in the project, but also there will a practical session of what the students have already learned in class in collaboration with their Professors/educators. During the excavation, there will be offered the opportunity to students to put into practice what has been learned during class and there will be hands – on activities of using and managing the new technological tools. Each partner will be responsible for organizing the selection and sending of their students to the excavation, organizing special trainings in applying the digital methods and tools in the field. The concept is to organize short training sessions in each country with the director of the excavation in charge, supervising his/ her students. The final phase of the training for students of Archaeological Departments includes an intensive study program where a small group of students from each University with their Professor/educator will be able to work together in multinational groups and benefit of the knowledge and skills exchange and thus, gain a different perspective from different Institutions in the project countries, participating from the same sector. Communities of practices will be established in order for students from the project countries to exchange ideas and thoughts. Also, the project will inaugurate a creative dialogue among students and collaborations among Universities.

    Climate change is one of the most challenging issues worldwide affecting all regions around the world. In some regions, its effects involved extreme weather events and rainfall while in others involved extreme heat waves and droughts. Climate change is a key driver of migration and food insecurity. These impacts are expected to intensify in the coming decades. Countries from the Mediterranean arch are particularly vulnerable to climate change and this is why CTwoSEAS project focus on these countries. Project partners have identified the lack of a comprehensive training in European High education institutions which provide a pan European and transversal training to European students and teachers in climate change issues. We must change our habits and protect the environment to conserve it. And that must be done from the education and training of the new generations, with the handicap that there is no time to lose. The climatic catastrophe has been announced for not less than 20 years, with a different degree of credibility and a lot of skepticism. However, at this time there is a great consensus among scientists around the world about the serious consequences for humanity and for life on our planet if we don't stop on time this climate change.The mail goal of this project is to boost a better educated society in climate change issues in order to reinforce EU policies against climate change approaching the topic from a scientific, ethical-social, philosophical and economical point of view. CTwoSEAS project proposes the development of a cross-cutting subject in climate change with an integral view covering all aspects related to this topic from a multidisciplinary standpoint. In order to reinforce the aims of this project, the cross-cutting subject will be complemented with a digital space (web page) and a community of practice. At the end of the project, an event entitles “Climate Change: From Science to Society” will be carried out. This event will be a window to disseminate the project to other EU educational institutions and the general public.Project partners include five high educational institutions from Mediterranean seashore. Spain (Complutense University of Madrid) -Po-, Portugal (Instituto Politécnico de Braganza) -P1-, Greece (Industrial and Business Education and Training Institute - SEV) -P2-, Turkey (Akdeniz University) -P3- and Italy (Universita Degli Studi della Basilicata) -P4-. This project will promote and reinforce the cooperation among these institutions and improve students and teacher’s internationalization. Long term benefits include a future workforce prepared to face the challenge of climate change, a more educated society on climate change issue more willing to support EU policies against climate change, strong cooperation between educational institutions with mutual recognition of qualifications and international teaching view.
