Realizing that there is a lack of methods in youth work who could facilitate refugee integration, organisations from Sweden, Kenya, Colombia and Myanmar (refugee origin or host countries) decided to join for the project “Migration to Integration” (MI) .The main AIM of the project: to improve youth work methods on young refugees’ integration and, accordingly, help them integrate.OBJECTIVES to reach it: 1. Raise the qualifications and competencies of youth workers by developing new methods for refugee integration through youth work;2. Exchange good practices between countries on alternative ways of integrating refugees within the local communities;3. Help youth learn how to communicate with refugees and integrate them better through social activities;4. Lower xenophobia, racism and foster multilingualism of the youth;5. Spread the main idea of the project to other NGOs and the general public;6. Foster capacity building and new social initiatives in the field of youth work related to refugees;7. Increase transnational cooperation & exchange of good practices on alternative ways of refugees integration. To achieve these OBJECTIVES, a capacity building programme, targeting youth workers from EU & Partner countries, will be developed, tested & launched. It will include: (1) Analysis of situation of refugee integration in partner countries and creation of a training material for youth workers to improve it;(2) 3 training courses for youth workers on integration of young refugees through youth work;3) 1 youth exchange to test the methods created during the above mentioned training courses;(4) 4 job shadowing activities in the above mentioned countries for youth workers to gain practical knowledge of how to improve inclusion of refugees;(3) Developing open educational resources (including an online platform and e-learning course on refugee integration through youth work), which would allow youth workers to access the educational content developed in the frame of the project at any time(4) Launch of online competition for youth to develop ideas on refugee integration and raise awareness about their situation; 5) Initiative “Friends without borders” to connect young refugees with local youngsters and facilitate refugee adaptation in a new country;(6) Final local conferences to share the results with target audiences in partner countries. All in all, this will surely improve the capacity of youth workers to help integration of refugees through youth work and create further initiatives related to that.

The primary objective of the Latin-american Alliance for Capacity buildiNG in Advanced Physics (LA-CoNGA Physics) proposal is to modernize the educational platform in eight Latin-American higher education institutions (HEI) from the four countries in the Andean region (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela), using high-energy physics (HEP) as a model. The aimed modernization relies strongly on the development of an innovative e-learning platform based on low-cost open-access tools, installing connected instrumentation laboratories, a flexible problem-solving-oriented syllabus structured on modules for a one year master program and on the strengthening of cross-institutional relations among the target HEI's.We propose to build capacity in the Andean region by teaching advanced physics during a one year master/specialisation and creating a Virtual Research and Learning Community (VRLC), complemented by training opportunities at 3 leading European research centers, start-up and technology companies in the Andes and Europe, support to career development from the US. HEP is the science of understanding the smallest components of matter and the origin of the universe, looking for answers to key questions of our age. Impressive machines and detectors are needed to achieve the goals of HEP. They are based on breakthrough technologies with the potential to contribute in key areas like healthcare, big data, electronics, open-access collaborative tools, and solid ground for innovative entrepreneurs. In the past, voluntary crowdfunded efforts have been set up to have remote teaching of HEP in some of these HEI from researchers/professors at the beneficiary, i.e. the CEVALE2VE (Centro Virtual de Altos Estudios de Altas Energías in Spanish). This project proposes to create a VRLC by leveraging networks which already exist (CEVALE2VE, LatAm-EU-CERN, RedCLARA) and inexpensive, online teaching technologies. These will be made available to the country HEIs to be used in other fields.

The main objectives of the REMEB project are the implementation and validation of a low-cost ceramic membrane bioreactor (MBR) in a Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP), the study of the impact and replication of the technology for the reuse of the water in regions with water scarcity and the industrial sector, and finally, the definition of a proper business plan to start the commercialization of the technology, once the project will be finished. The low cost recycled ceramic membranes of the project are based on residues obtained in agricultural and industrial processes (sub-products), such as olive oil solid wastes, marble working wastes and chamotte from fired scrap, in addition to the typical raw materials used in the ceramic tile industry. The project aims to achieve several specific objectives: valorization of wastes from different agricultural or industrial processes, manufacturing of an innovative product using recycled materials, validation of a new MBR with a lower initial and running costs by using low cost ceramic membranes and comparison between REMEB MBR and the MBR in operation in the WWTP selected for the validation. Replication of both, manufacturing and validation tasks, is assured by repeating the processes in the facilities of some participants. Manufacturing membrane replicability will be performed in Turkey and Italy. The replication study of the MBR implementation in the urban and industrial wastewater sector will be performed in Colombia and nearby countries, Cyprus and nearby countries and Europe. Furthermore, evaluation of the environmental impact of product and process will be carried out by the method of LCA. Finally, a marketing and dissemination plan of the technology will be done by the entire consortium. It is expected that this technology would be implemented massively, principally due to the low cost of REMEB MBR (3.5 times lower than a MBR of organic membranes and 2.5 times lower than a ceramic MBR).

South American countries experiences high levels of crime and violence and consequently a sense of public insecurity, where public bodies capacities to prevent and control crime is limited. This is partially explained by a weak tradition in education provision in the areas of criminology & public security, reflected in limited professional capacities among public officers, not enough skilled to address this societal problem. Academic offers in this area are not widespread, and the existing ones generated an approach to the problems through the hardening of penalties (reform penal codes). Further, the necessary multidisciplinary approach (with other social sciences) is reduced or null.In order to strengthen scientific cooperation & knowledge transfer (evidence-based) SuCCESS aims to strengthening South American teachers and researchers capacity and body of knowledge to develop and improve academic offers in the areas of criminology & public safety, including the development of 4 new masters degrees and 2 new post-graduation/specialization courses, improvement of 2 existing master degrees and the update of lessons and curricular approach in specific Bachelors, through the sharing of experience, knowledge and competences from European Universities.Considering the significant progresses in research and training in these fields in Europe, SuCCESS will promote Euro-South American cooperation and knowledge transfer contributing to improve training of the professionals to perform at higher standards in areas such as crime prevention, delinquency control, public security and social reintegration of ex-convicts, etc., is necessary.SuCCESS assumes that education based on multidisciplinary approach is the key to build a better society: teachers and researchers will develop their capacity on citizen security & criminology issues, enabling the creation of new and improved societal responses, and train students to develop their own solutions and apply them in the real world.

MIMIr- ANDINO is primarly designed to aid, assist and soccour partner universities in Latin America to understand the status quo of their innovation and research management systems, performance, efficacy, and practices and devise pathways to overcome impediments, hindrances, fiascos and pitfalls that prevent them from achieving recognised stature in the international landscape. The core tread to accomplish this goal is to measure existing innovation and research activities, to gauge regulatory framework management, administration and tools, and to scope opportunities for overcoming bureaucratic obstacles, stimulating conditions and elevate mindsets. Coupled to provision of comparative analysis to European processes, practices and state-of-the-art, the consortium will identify areas for change, targets for improvement, and a trajectory to excel. Accordingly, partner universities will be informed on the organisation of management of innovation and research in European universities, understand present model, principles, and standards, and embrace and partake the opportunity for support, guidance and corroboration from European partners.
