<< Objectives >>This project will help address the communication barriers of migrants, specifically those from countries with languages of lesser diffusion (LLD), for which there is a lack of qualified translating and interpreting professionals by creating a training module and material addressed to heritage and bilingual migrant speakers of LLD who can become Public Services Interpreters and Translators.<< Implementation >>The project will focus specifically on the following objectives: mapping of LLD in the partners´ countries, identifying communication needs, developing materials and resources to help bridge communication gaps with institutions and public services, and developing a training course to migrants (after an analysis of a previous pilot training module) with adequate bilingual and bicultural competences of LLD in order to be able to recruit them as professional and qualified PSIT.<< Results >>The expected results are the following: State of the art review/mapping of current training programmes and activities, as well as available training material on LLD report; Pilot training module analysis report/research and material; Pilot training module; Training materials in languages that are deemed necessary; Open access, blended training module to be implemented in any language in the future; and guidelines and best practices guide.

The REBUILD proposal address immigrant integration through the provision of a toolbox of ICT-based solutions that will improve both the management procedures of the local authorities and the life quality of the migrants. The design approach is user-centered and participated: both target groups (immigrants/refugees and local public services providers) will be part of the user requirement analysis and participants in three 2-days Co-Creation workshops organized in the 3 main piloting countries: Italy, Spain and Greece, chosen also for their being the "access gates" to Europe for main immigration routes. Users and stakeholders engagement is a key success factor addressed both in the Consortium composition and in its capacity to engage relevant stakeholders external to the project. The key technology solutions proposed are: GDPR-compliant migrants’ integration related background information gathering with user consent and anonymization of personal information; AI-based profile analysis to enable both personalized support and policy making on migration-related issues; AI-based needs matching tool, to match migrant needs and skills with services provided by local authorities in EU countries and labor market needs at local and regional level; a digital companion for migrants enabling personalized two-way communication using chatbots to provide them smart support for easy access to local services (training, health, employment, welfare, etc.) and assessment of the level of integration and understanding of the new society, while providing to local authorities data-driven, easy to use decision supporting tools for enhancing capacities and effectiveness in service provision. Cross-culturality, ethical, accessibility dimensions will be addressed since the very beginning of the project, and validated and assessed in terms of consistency and impact during the project lifespan.

sosclimatewaterfront mission is to develop affordable research environment and efficient operational tools at ULHT/LEAU and HEI partners by creating a Doctorate Consortium’s to face the effects of climate change. The aim is to make use of the existing strategic network to enhance the research carried on in the field of urban waterfronts. To face the future challenges in managing, adapting and mitigating the effect brought by the increasing number of disasters, ULHT/LEAU has been cooperating with HEI partners to produce and disseminate solutions, that enhance resilience. The research network will reinforce the dynamic partnerships and increase the quality and technologic innovations of the research, to design tools, to face the growing costs imposed by disasters. S.O.S. waterfront enables ULHT/LEAU and HEI partners to bring excellence in research to a higher level and to improve its international position. To reach excellence requires the call for (1) interdisciplinary and international research case studies, (2) steady sustainable research structure, (3) dissemination and open access of knowledge covered by different cultures, sciences and communities in each location. The organization of data of comparative cases and algorithms will be used to provide future scenarios thus reinforcing the centre of our research project. Our work methodology has been attracting the collaboration of top researchers which S.O.S. waterfront aims to gather in the exchange of knowledge and joint initiatives to produce results that are valuable to Europe and applicable worldwide. The Doctorate Consortium will build up trans-national collaborative events with local Municipalities to produce results . The measures to reach scientific innovation and excellence are implemented and verified in each step. The continuous exposure of the results produced by design research includes exhibition, publications, media and digital platforms to reach wider audiences, local and global.

The FairFuture project addresses the pressing need for climate adaptation, with a particular focus on vulnerable communities. The objective is to develop and test inclusive adaptation measures that are tailored to local vulnerabilities, with a particular emphasis on just resilience in order to prevent an exacerbation of existing inequalities. In collaboration with local and regional authorities (LRGs), national governments, and community-led initiatives, FairFuture will integrate climate risk assessments into local plans and policies. The project will operationalise Resilience Action Labs with the objective of co-developing equitable adaptation actions, measuring effectiveness, and promoting a broader understanding of just transformation in climate resilience. The FairFuture project aims to enhance local resilience, well-being and equity, providing a framework for inclusive decision-making and scalable adaptation strategies.
