The e-MOTIVE project is born after a previous experience of cooperation among higher VET schools located in Spain. That experience, named as Intercentros, consisted of the joint design and evaluation by VET teachers of a challenge/activity to be solved by VET students from different higher VET schools (located in different provinces). This way, students working in groups mostly on-line had to solve that challenge, developing different digital and transversal skills (on-line work, communication, teamwork, organization...). This working methodology has been applied in different areas (mechanical design, ICT, mechanical manufacturing) as a simulation of a real work situation and has been so successful along time, that the e-MOTIVE partners decided to add the variable internationalization to enrich it, as most of companies work nowadays in an international context. The e-MOTIVE project is perfectly aligned with the priorities of ERASMUS+, as it contributed to the achievement of the following objectives:- Development of transferable competences of higher VET students and teachers.- Promote blended mobility of higher education students and teachers.- Enforce content and language integrated learning in higher education.- Facilitate the comparison and equivalence of different education systems across Europe.During the first half of the project, the partners defined a cooperation methodology, based on the previous experience of Intercentros, to be applied by higher VET teachers and higher VET students. On the basis of this methodology, partners also developed a manual to be applied specifically in the provision of the course “mechanical manufacturing design”. The methodology and the manual gather all the aspects needed to guarantee an efficient cooperation among higher VET teachers and students: how to form the working groups, definition of roles, competences to be developed, evaluation tools, working calendar or communication among students taking into consideration their geographical distance and the use of a non native language for their communication. In each of the higher VET schools involved in the project (3 in total), a group of students was selected (13 students in total) within those of the last course of the specialty of mechanical manufacturing design. Students, from 3 centers located in 2 different countries, needed to work together (in a blended mobility way) to solve a challenge proposed and agreed by their teachers, the design of a wind turbine.Prior to their cooperation, students received training in the PBL methodology, intercultural communication and the necessary ICT tools for distance communication and virtual work. This training involved the mobility of the students from Spain to Italy so they got to know each other before starting to cooperate and they received this training together. Italian students also took part in a mobility learning activity in Spain, where they and the Spanish students presented the results of the challenge solved through virtual cooperation. In parallel with these activities, the e-MOTIVE partners also worked to create the e-MOTIVE matrix to provide standardized and comparable information on higher VET courses. This matrix gathers information about learning outcomes and competences (technical and transferable) for different specialties in different higher VET centers across Europe, to make cooperation and exchange of resources easier among them. The project has had an important impact on the partners and the participants in the project. Both teachers and students have increased their English skills, their ability to work in an international team, their digital competences for virtual work and their ability to readapt the organization of their work, combining different systems and ways of organization. Besides, partner organizations and everyone involved increased the knowledge and expertise in the use of EU transparency tools. The intellectual outputs developed during e-MOTIVE had and/or are having an impact also in other schools not directly participating in e-MOTIVE. That is the case of all the schools which contributed to provide information about their higher VET programmes for the e-MOTIVE matrix. In most of the cases these schools were not familiar with EU transparency tools or the use of learning outcomes to describe higher VET contents. With their cooperation in the project gained higher awareness and knowledge in this regard. As for the long term, we started e-MOTIVE as a pilot experience to incorporate internationalization in higher VET programmes, This way, next academic year we will have 2 e-MOTIVE spin off projects:-e-MOTIVE design: in the area of mechanical design-e-MOTIVE SHARE: in the area of ICTIn these new editions, it is foreseen the participation of 24 students and 6 teachers. e-MOTIVE was developed to stay and in the next years is our intention to extend this cooperation methodology to other higher VET areas and schools.

The project is focused on improving Vocational Education and Training System in partner’s regions. The main aim of the project through international cooperation is to map the situation in the field of Vocational Education and Training with the help of questionnaires distributed to vocational school students in order to determine their job requirements, satisfaction, future plans and motivation. Research on Regional and International level will be a source of information for the actors of Labour Market (educational institutions, students, teachers, counsellors and employers). They can be starting materials for improving VET System, to establish a high quality Pedagogical/Methodological Framework. By exchange of information and experiences on international level, partner institutions can use the materials for professional consulting services, mainly in preventive counselling and career guidance. The results of Regional and International research, and all the project activities and products are aimed to improve the quality and skills levels of young people on the Labour Market. Number of methods and suggestions will be recommended for the primary target group in order to support and help them in School-to work transition. The dissemination of the project results will be ensured by – active involvement of the target group into project activities, articles about the project, website in five languages, brochure, leaflet, DVD. The sustainability of the results will be maintained by all the partners after the end of the project by implementing innovative methods into their daily practice. Conclusions and recommendations developed by project partners at the end of the project will serve as the basis for improving VET System.

Quality education and training, successful labour market integration and more mobility were key elements for the advancement of the Europe 2020 Strategy objectives. Mobility strengthens peoples’ employability and personal development and is valued by employers (ET 2020), but is hindered by language barriers. Intercomprehension is a form of communication in which each person uses his or her language and understands that of the other. The advantages of intercomprehension are: it is politically relevant in the context of the EU advocating plurilingualism and cultural diversity, it relies on a solid psychological foundation (it uses innate ability for language learning and previously acquired communication skills), it is educationally reasonable (it motivates learners by using what they already know and their innate ability to learn, it facilitates intercultural education. The objective of IC EU has been the development of resources for youth workers to promote European citizenship, intercultural learning and mobility, so young people can develop their competences for employability. The resources include training materials on the topics of intercomprehension as a tool for non-formal learning, European citizenship and human rights education, the evaluation of developed competences using intercomprehension and a collection of activities for plurilingual conversations, created using principles and activities of non-formal education. The project results are innovative resources developed by combining: academic research on the topic of intercomprehension as a method of developing language competences, with non-formal education principles to create the learning context and involving the final beneficiaries of the results (youth workers) and their target group (young people) in developing relevant employability materials and methodology for European citizenship education with a focus on international mobility to empower young people. The IC EU Book provides content on the theory and methodology of intercomprehension for European citizenship. The content has been developed during joint working sessions with partner representatives, tested with target groups and adapted based on the feedback received. The information provided therein can be better understood by using the accompanying video material created during project activities with IC EU participants. The intellectual outputs are available in plurilingual format (Romanian, Italian, French and English) on the project website iceu.enoalinguistics.com. The project activities included: 3 transnational partner meetings, 3 short term joint staff trainings, 1 blended learning mobility for young people and 4 multiplier events to disseminate the intellectual outputs created (training materials and methodology), found in the IC EU Book and accompanying videos, downloadable here http://iceu.enoalinguistics.com/ic-eu-book/. On all levels, the project has raise awareness about: European citizenship, youth employability and intercultural learning; it has promoted fundamental values and principles at the core of the European Union such as respect for diversity, human rights, cultural sensitivity etc. At local levels, the project has provided young people with knowledge, competences and awareness of opportunities for education and employment abroad, but most importantly, it has empowered them to make the most of these opportunities, it has increased the visibility of partner organizations and their capacity to facilitate international mobilities for young people in view of developing awareness and employability prospects. At regional and national level, the results of the project will continue to be disseminated and are transferable, therefore other organizations can use them in their activity and thereby increase the impact of youth work in the field of youth mobility, social inclusion and employability.

This project proposal is dedicated to the problem of youth unemployment and lack of work experience among this target group. During the financial crisis the young were severely hit, manifested by an upward trend in the youth unemployment rate and by extension an increasing risk of social exclusion. Several years after the financial crisis, the Eurozone’s youth unemployment remains high – more than double the euro area. Studies show that lack of future prospects and long periods of unemployment in the beginning of joining the labour market, can lead to recurring unemployment periods later on in life and as a result even ruin one’s career opportunities. The young are “responsible” for 40 percent of the world’s unemployment and are four times as likely to end in unemployment compared to adults. This issue is also addressed by the UN world goals under goal 8, in which their one of their targets is to substantially reduce the proportion of youth not in employment, education or training by 2020.The consequences of unemployment are severe and makes many young people feel isolated, dependent and worthless on top of the negative output it has on society. This is one of the many reasons why this project aims to contribute to the knowledge production of youth unemployment in Europe. Often the solution proposal to youth unemployment is articulated by upgrading skills of the unemployed. However, we believe that many academic students actually do have a lot of skills and knowledge, but lack relevant work experience. As a consequence, this initiative is dedicated to spread light on the competences of academic students and the benefits of including them into the labor market already while studying. The objective of this project is to promote Student jobs as a way of capacity building and reduce unemployment after graduation from universities by giving students work experience already while studying. The last couple of years, Foreningen Nydansker has worked extensively with young international students, mainly from the European countries and our experience shows, that many of these lack relevant experience from their field of study and that throughout Europe, it is very seldom to see students enrolled at universities, with a relevant student job. Opposite, in Denmark, 52% of students does beside studying, have a student job, where the majority is relevant to their field of study. Studies show, that the chances of landing a job after graduating from university is much higher if you already have relevant experience. In addition, having a student job help students to create a greater network within their field early in their career.Based on this experience and knowledge, we do with this project aim to share best practice of the benefits of student jobs in relation to decrease youth unemployment - Both in the period of studying, and after ended education. With this project we aim to inspire and effect the workplace culture in the counties of partnership to be more inclusive towards using students as workforce while they are studying at universities. To do so, we will establish a European Student Job Youth Network, where the students from the four partnerships countries will learn, share and acquire new knowledge. As a part of the youth network, there will be held at least 1 workshop in each country for students. These workshops, will be used to inspire and inform student about the benefits of student jobs, so that they can advocate and better argue for why they are a strong and valuable workforce. After these workshops we will facilitate four multiplier events (one in each country). The students from the youth network will be invited to join the event taking place in their own country as well as the final event taking place in Copenhagen, where we will launch the guide. Local/national enterprises will also be invited at each multiplier event. The guide and the material that we have produced will be used and handed out to the enterprises to spread the word and to give them a written guide to how to best include students at their workplace. Moreover, we will investigate and define best practices for how to benefit from a relevant student job. This will be done through an investigation of practices of including students in workplaces in Denmark, Italy, Spain, and Finland. After having acquired an in depth knowledge of the ways of including academic students as a part of the workforce in the countries involved, we will make a guide for how to best include students in the workplace and why it is beneficial for the student, the company and society – with the Danish student job model as inspiration. We will carry out this project on a transnational level, as we believe that other countries can benefit from the kn
