HumAIne will research, develop, validate and promote a novel operating system for Human-AI collaboration, which will enable the development of advanced decision making applications in dynamic, unstructured environments in different industrial sectors. The HumAIne OS will empower AI solution integrators to implement Human-AI collaboration systems that outperform AI systems and humans when working in isolation. HumAIne’s developments will be integrated into a single OS platform, which will coordinate four interwind components offering Active Learning (AL), Neuro-Symbolic Learning, Swarm Learning (SL) as well eXplainable AI (XAI) capabilities. These advanced AI paradigms are ideal for exploiting true Human-AI collaboration since, in each of them, the worker is the key actor with complete control and understanding of the performed operations. AL enables the development of effective Human-in-the-Loop systems that involve humans when AI faces increased uncertainty. Neuro-Symbolic Learning combines DL with semantics and rules to complete highly complex tasks with high accuracy while requiring considerably less training data than current AI models. Advanced XAI models will be made available, providing explanations of models’ predictions while considering the global context instead of just analysing the feature importance of a single AI model. HumAIne’s XAI will provide guidance to humans to enable the timely optimisation of AL and SL models where human participants provide feedback dynamically as well as fine-tuning of Neuro-Symbolic models. The platform will handle various types of structured and unstructured data, including inputs from humans that will be semantically correlated through ontologies, knowledge graphs, and semantic interoperability. HumAIne will complement its platform with complementary resources (e.g., training) and will be build a vibrant community of interested parties around it, to drive exploitation and wider use of the project's results.

PolicyCLOUD delivers a unique integrated environment addressing the full lifecycle of policy management: modelling, monitoring, enforcing, simulation, analysis and compliance. The environment will utilize the capabilities offered by the European Cloud Initiative, with an emphasis on data analysis to facilitate evidence-based policy making. PolicyCLOUD introduces a pioneering approach for the development of policies “collections” to exploit collective knowledge towards policy co-creation and cross-sector optimization. The co-creation of multi-modal policies will follow an innovative modelling process for structural representation of schema-based policies. PolicyCLOUD environment seamlessly integrates a methodology for utilizing cloud environments and data in policy making structures considering sociological, cultural, political, legal and economic properties. PolicyCLOUD environment will integrate a set of reusable models and tools, ranging from social dynamics and behaviour analysis, to situational knowledge acquisition, opinion mining and sentiment analysis, complemented with tools for data aggregation, linking and cleaning. Citizen participation will be ensured exploiting techniques for incentives management and a Living Lab approach put forward by PolicyCLOUD. A toolkit which allows the specification of transferable and re-usable analytics tasks in a declarative way, their integration in the policies management path, as well as an adaptive visualization environment, will realize PolicyCLOUD’s vision of openness and extensibility. Targeting high impact, PolicyCLOUD delivers a data marketplace enabling the creation of an entire ecosystem of stakeholders contributing, producing, processing and using policy-related data assets. The reusable models and tools and this marketplace provide the ground for the proposed dual-business plan, which has been compiled by the consortium to ensure the long-term sustainability and take-up of the PolicyCLOUD results.

CLIMINVEST is joint effort of sustainability experts and finance/investing experts to improve the bankability of climate adaptation solutions. In this direction, the project will develop, integrate and validate tools and techniques that will empower climate adaptation stakeholders to develop “bankable-by-design” (BbD) projects with a positive ROI, including projects that are continually assessed in order to proactively identify and remedy issues that can affect their bankability. Moreover, CLIMINVEST will facilitate private investors to assess them, and to include them in their portfolios and ESG strategies. Based on the project’s BbD framework, local/regional governments and operators of climate-adaptation solutions will greatly benefit from CLIMINVEST techniques and blueprints for developing and deploying bankable solutions that can be integrated with broader projects and deliver co-benefits in conjunction with other climate mitigation efforts. Furthermore, CLIMINVEST will provide investors with risk assessment and ESG reporting tools for projects with climate adaptation elements towards lowering the barriers that hinder their engagement in climatic adaptation projects. CLIMINVEST will develop and offer a marketplace of bankable climate adaptation projects and solutions, which will boost the discoverability of “best practice” solutions, while also facilitating their replication, repurposing and wider use. The project will build a vibrant ecosystem of interested stakeholders around this marketplace, including local/regional governments, sustainability experts, private investors, and policy makers. The project’s platform and associated ecosystem will serve as a basis for the exploitation, sustainability and wider use of the project’s results. In this direction, the project will devise and validate models for the monetization of services of the project’s marketplace.
