The Swedish consortium working with Enterprise Europe Network will deliver services within the action ”Establishing services enhancing the innovation management capacity of SME’ in the Enterprise Europe Network” during 2014 and onwards. This proposal only covers services to be delivered during 2014 even though services to involved SMEs will proceed in 2015 to 2020. The project will involve six partners where The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth will be the coordinator. Swerea, Acreo and Centek will be the partners delivering services, both as Key Account Manager and as Innovation Specialists. Partners ALMI Mitt, SIK and Uminova will be involved in a reference group together with the NCP for SMEs. This application consists of four work packages: WP0 Integrate the KAM and EEN Innovation specialist services with the national supporting system for innovation and H2020 WP1 Provide Key account management (KAM) services for the beneficiaries of the SME Instrument WP2 Provide Innovation specialist services for selected SMEs to enhance their innovation management capacity. WP3 Manage the WP processes, tool development and training In total there will be six employees from Swerea, Acreo and Centek that will be delivering the services in WP 1 and 2 during 2014. The estimated number of SMEs participating in 2014 are 50 were 10 is coming from the SME Instrument and 40 will be selected for innovation management services. The selection will be made by a reference group in consensus to ensure that selected companies have a high growth potential. We will take into account both branch experience and geographic closeness to be able to signpost clients to the most appropriate partner. The tool to be used for enhancing innovation management capacity will be IMP3rove. The tool to be used by the staff working as KAM will be decided upon before the start of the action. All staff involved will be trained in using the tools before start.

The proposed project CAMART2 is aimed to upgrade the existing “Excellence Centre of Advanced Material Research and Technology at the Institute of Solid State Physics University of Latvia” (CAMART:ISSP) to a new significantly stronger Centre of Excellence. The upgrade will enable efficient transfer of new materials and technologies into products for commercial and public benefits based on exchange of knowledge and synergy with innovation-intensive Consortium partners – KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Acreo Swedish ICT. The partners are worldwide-recognized leaders in research and innovation having pursued a number of successful commercialization projects and are parts of the innovation system in Stockholm, Kista. Specialization of CAMART:ISSP is defined according to RIS3 topic of Latvia “Smart materials, technology and engineering systems” and EC defined KETs – Advanced Materials, Photonics, Nanotechnology and Micro- and Nanoelectronics. The R&D&I activities at the Centre of Excellence will be focused on: 1) Thin films and coating technologies; 2) Functional materials for electronics and photonics; 3) Nanotechnology, nanocomposites and ceramics; 4) Computational material science by atomistic scale modelling of technologically important materials and devices. The implementation of CAMART2 will increase the level of commercialisation of research in Latvia and Baltic Sea region, enhance cooperation between business and academics paving way for innovation-based economic growth, diminishing the disparities between Latvia and well-performing Member States.

CAMART² (‘Excellence Centre of Advanced Material Research and Technology Transfer’) project is aimed to upgrade the existing Centre of Excellence at the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP), which was established in 2001 by project CAMART realised within EC FP5. The current project CAMART² is based on a long-term partnership between ISSP, KTH Royal Institute of Technology – the largest technical university in Sweden and RISE Research Institutes of Sweden. ISSP is renowned for its scientific achievements in applied materials physics for micro- and nanotechnology, electronics, photonics, functional coatings etc. and related theoretical and characterization capability. The vision of CAMART² is to establish ISSP as the most important centre of excellence for education, science, innovation and technology transfer in the Baltic States. ISSP will also become the hub for a collaboration and technology transfer platform (called "RIX-STO") for materials physics based high technologies, including scientists, entrepreneurs, investors and policy makers on both sides of the Baltic Sea. The commitment from the Swedish partners assures successful modernization of ISSP, including an overall refinement of the educational programs, strengthening of the research and development activities towards higher technology readiness levels, establishment of an innovation system and Open Access Laboratory, as well as ISO 9001 certification. The partners will be active in an ambitious program for networking and outreach to make academia and high-tech industries in the region around Riga and Stockholm flourish with respect to scientific results, economic growth and increased competitiveness. The region will benefit from an injection of highly educated young people, closer collaboration between academia and industry, and offering state-of-the-art open access research infrastructure boosting innovation and economy.

The project IoTBe will be proposed as a support action run by the consortium with the partners etventure, Fraunhofer IAIS, Faubourg Numérique, Acreo Swedish ICT and Challengy Israel. Our vision is to build a broad and vibrant ecosystem around the pilot projects that increase the collaboration between them, generates economic impact through new innovative business models and creates trust in the internet of things by transparent information about social challenges such as privacy and security implications. We will reach this vision by focussing on following five objectives: - We will support the collaboration and knowledge exchange between pilots and other relevant EU-projects (e.g. FIWARE). - We will build the bridge between pilots and relevant stakeholders (e.g. potential customers such as European small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), entrepreneurs and developers, but also researchers and policy makers) and thus expand the ecosystem further. - We will set the ground for upcoming business building activities by creating awareness and also by facilitating and fostering societal acceptance (e.g. by running a variety of innovation activities). - Building on the above mentioned developments we will set the ground for the development of concrete new customer-oriented businesses based on the emerging pilots. Those business models will be derived through a proven systematic user centric ideation and validation process increasing the market acceptance and success rate of these business models. The emerging new businesses shall have a substantial economic impact in Europe. - We will pave the way for future advances within IoT: We will write a whitepaper that explains, describes and collects the most promising future standards from pilots and distribute these to relevant parties. We will use the consortium existing academies for education activities (e.g. Fraunhofer academy or etventure Berlin School of Digital Business).
