<< Background >>The EU Skills Panorama identified Renewable Energy Sources related skill needs in agriculture crucial. It underlines the need for improving skills on “using renewable energy”. Green jobs are growing at double rate in Agriculture than other sectors, but there is indeed a lack of technical, management and legal skills needed to upkeep and maintain RES plants on a daily basis. With green deal and bioeconomy we could expect raising demand of skilled people in this area.<< Objectives >>The partners identify RES-related skills needs and provide training to fill in this gap for both professional and unemployed people. They aimed at developing attractive, ECVET certified training programme in country language, that will allows upskill and reskill workers in the of operation and maintenance for the following RES plants in agriculture: biogas, biomass and solar. By the implementation of the project we provide improved level of skills for employability and new business creation.<< Implementation >>The training setup by agriculture RES experts, address farmers, advisors, and students. The training is completely modular and divided into five modules: 1) ICT, 2) biogas and biomethane, 3) solid biomass and 4) solar thermal and 5) solar photovoltaic. It was developed following the innovative “flipped classroom” methodology, mixing online training modules, in-class modules, and work-based learning periods, and available in 5 languages.<< Results >>The project design 5 platforms, with about 400 h of blended training (online, in-class) per language. The languages supported are Dutch, English, French, German, Italian. About 230 people followed the training and were fully satisfied with the training. The course is certified by Piedmont Region, in Italy and is listed in the VET catalogue course. The training material is free of use. Users can follow from only one day up to the whole course (50 days).

One Health is a concept initially promoted by FAO, OIE, and the WHO, that seeks to join forces to combat public health threats arising from interactions between animals, humans, and the environment. The COVID-19 pandemic has once again demonstrated the importance of the animal-human-health interface in the emergence of infectious diseases. Although not all zoonoses (diseases which can be transmitted to humans from animals) cause pandemics, most pandemics have a zoonotic origin, and knowledge of the determinants associated with them must form the basis of prevention strategies. However, so far this approach has been confined only at a broader policy level and to the academia, with research that have not yet been able to spill down to the agricultural vocational education and training sector, and to the workers that should actually use this framework with their interaction with animals and the environment. To bridge this gap, LIVET aims at developing and pilot testing an innovative VET curriculum at EQF 5 level focused on the management and practical application of the One Health principles into the livestock farming and animal husbandry sector. The project will develop an xMOOC at EQF 5 level on the adoption of the One Health approach into the livestock farming sector; three Specialisation courses at EQF 5 level on Animal welfare, Zoonoses, and Antimicrobial use and resistance; an Autumn School on One Health, Resilience Skills, and Integrated Risk Management; and a period of work-integrated learning for 60 learners. The project will also develop a new One Health Advisor qualification profile, and a VET curriculum related to such profile. The target groups of the project are graduates of agricultural technical vocational education institutions, undergraduate students in agriculture or veterinary science who have not completed their degree yet, advisors, consultants, technicians or supervisors of livestock farms, and specialised livestock workers with management roles.

The objective of ATTRACTISS is to improve & embed competencies, approaches, instruments & governance models for Member States (MS) AKIS and specifically for Innovation Support Services (ISS) as a crucial AKIS actor, to enable them accelerating individual grassroots innovative ideas to come to fruition & to generate solutions for the transition process to more sustainable agriculture & forestry. ATTRACTISS has the goals to (1) empower ISS & all AKIS actors, through capacity building & provision of effective methods & supportive tools, to discover innovative ideas & enable uptake in a co-creative way thereby fostering AKIS ecosystem building to support the transition to sustainable and circular agriculture & forestry systems (2) support Managing Authorities (MA) in all EU MS to organise & monitor efficient support for ISS; & (3) provide support for new actors in AKIS processes to better facilitate co-creation approaches involving farming, practitioners & research centres. ATTRACTISS achieves these goals by (1) setting up an EU wide network for ISSs that allows to connect, develop common understanding, vision & capacities about their roles & functions within the AKIS. This ultimately leads to the development of an ecosystem in favor of Multi-Actor Approaches (MAA) & innovative projects; (2) building upon and giving continuity to other previous initiatives to focus on ISSs & broaden the networks; (3) systematizing the current databases & tools for ISSs to provide a unique virtual location for tools & guidelines to support best practice; (4) providing a step change in the provision of support & training for key actors in MAA & ISS across MS which builds knowledge, understanding & confidence in the practical delivery & benefits of these approaches; & (5) enabling institutional dialogue among ISSs & MAs based on enhanced understanding of the potential to organize ISS in a way that will lead to targeted CAP interventions for the integration of ISS within the AKIS.

The EU Farm to Fork strategy, which is at the heart of the European Green Deal, aims to make food systems fair, healthy, and environmentally friendly. To achieve the objectives of the Farm to Fork strategy, the Commission proposed, among other, new targets to reduce the use and risks of pesticides (RURP). The main objective of AdvisoryNetPEST is to establish and upgrade a network of advisory services across the EU, increasing the knowledge sharing between advisors, and among the whole AKIS, and the adoption of innovative solutions to RURP by farmers. The project will achieve this by: 1) Developing a EU network of advisors to RURP, based on existing networks and national AKIS, covering the 27 EU Members States (MSs) and the UK. To cover all MSs, the project will adopt a twinning approach: 14 National Networks will be created by the project partners, and these will engage with 14 Associated Networks through a twining program. The network will cover all European pedo-climatic areas, integrating four EU regional clusters and the most relevant crop sectors. 2) Identifying, selecting, and shaping Novel Approaches (NAs), which are technically, economically, socially, and environmentally viable, that will be adapted and replicated across the EU. 3) Exchanging knowledge and training advisors and students to promote the adoption of the NAs. 4) Connecting the project with other national and EU projects, initiatives and policy makers. 5) Scaling up the NAs, fostering the adoption of innovative solutions by farmers and the whole value chain. The project will embrace a multi-actor approach, gathering 19 partner organisations with a vast experience in advisory and crop protection. The consortium will also represent a diversity of AKIS stakeholders, including advisors, researchers, and other value chain actors, as the cornerstone of a regional, national, and EU level network that will allow a wide sharing of technical and practical expertise to RURP in the long-term.
