The economic integration of migrants is one of the priorities of the EU's comprehensive approach to migration. In this context entrepreneurship can open doors for the integration of migrants by overcoming these barriers. It is crucial to empower legal migrants and refugees to develop their skills and to get access to knowledge and support that can enable them to build a solid livelihood and create added value. This should include the possibility of becoming entrepreneurs, accessing the host country labour market and thus contributing to further job creation. Entrepreneurship is one of the proven ways to ensure the integration and the economic independence of migrants. ON-D-GO - Developing the Employability Skills of Displaced Persons is an Erasmus+ project that sought to support the economic integration of migrants through the creation of a tailored migrant entrepreneurship training programme. The Project recognised that migrant populations continue to grow across Europe and there is an ongoing need to better integrate these communities into economic and social life in member states. Considering the potential positive contributions migrant entrepreneurs can make to society, it was in the interest of partner organisations to support migrants wishing to establish their own business. It is, however, important to recognise that migrants are an extremely diverse group. As such, ON-D-GO recognised the need to appropriately inform and thoughtfully plan the learning supports in order to address the different motivations, needs, previous experiences, age, gender and life cycle stage of the target group. To address this, the Project has designed and developed a training programme and flexible support resources targeted at VET trainers seeking to develop the employability skills of nascent and start-up migrant entrepreneurs and to support their learning ‘on the go’.Underpinning the development and delivery of our entrepreneurship programme is the use of technology. A review of current research and policies, coupled with local technology mapping with our target groups, established that technology is increasingly being used to facilitate the integration of refugees and migrants with host communities and the labour market. The EC Action Plan (2016) on the integration of third country nationals recognises the need to harness the innovative use of technology, social media and the Internet at all stages of the integration process - a need that the ON-D-GO project tried to facilitate. Technology not only provides an opportunity for refugees and migrants to maintain relationships with friends and families, it also makes it easier to receive assistance, access information and in some cases take control of their integration into the host community and develop their own learning and skills. The ON-D-GO project used technology to deliver enterprise and entrepreneurship education not only to empower refugees and migrants to make choices about their own learning, but also to provide VET training providers and those organisations working with refugees and migrants with a cost-effective solution to deliver both formal and informal learning and skills provision. Over the 24 months of the project, we have delivered the following activities:•Supported the continuous professional development of VET professionals and migrant support workers in the fields of migrant integration education, entrepreneurship and mobile learning • Completed a training needs analysis with refugees in terms of enterprise learning and skills development and the responses required to address these needs. Once established these needs were benchmarked against the EU Entre-Comp Framework • Mapped the ways in which technology is currently used to deliver enterprise leaning and skills development, in order to identify what works well and what works less well, using the prior expertise of project partners • Developed an enterprise learning and skills curriculum for refugees and piloted the delivery of the curriculum using different methodologies with 243 migrants and refugees across Europe • Created a library of case studies documenting how enterprising learning and skills development has assisted refugees to effectively integrate into host communities and the labour market • Trained 80 VET professionals and trainers working with refugees to enhance their understanding of, and develop their capacity in using technology to deliver enterprise learning and skills development to refugees.

In one hand there are increasing number of support programs/financial aids to promote innovation, on the other hand social innovation is still in its infancy, nevertheless there is much need for such initiatives in the fast changing social and economic environment of the digital era. There is much need for such initiatives in the fast changing social and economic environment of the digital era. With Coop-in project our partnership aims to raise awareness about the advantages of implementing social innovation at work by developing a complex Social Innovation Training kit for the most important potential actors of the field, primarily focusing on corporate VET trainers and mentors. Social innovation is often seen as a privilege of charity based organisations, and not as a skill/knowledge/know-how that has its well deserved place in a company's knowledge portfolio. However, social innovation can make an important impact on the world of work, reduce costs or lead to higher revenue (e.g. by creating a work conditions where employees are more satisfied and produce better; where diversity can bring an added value and new ideas, products, processes). As a topic it is still in its infancy in the partner countries and in Europe. There is a need for VET teacher/trainers and business coaches and advisors to better understand how to facilitate and support enterprises to exploit social innovation. Coop-in will encourage individuals, groups and organisations that would otherwise not participate in social innovation. In this sense, Coop-in partnership addresses all those actors whose cooperation would accelerate social innovation in the societies. The project partnership believes that collaboration is a key, not only for the successful realization of the present project but also for the systematic promotion and sustainable management of social innovation. The target audience of Coop-in project therefore is fairly wide. The project builds on the latest educational trends, applying gamification and micro learning approaches; enhances commitment, learning motivation by game elements; and micro-learning and scenario-based learning approach to ensure learning efficacy. Coop-in Social Innovation Training kit includes a game based learning platform enhancing practical approach on social innovation and collaboration, b-learning course book, self-assessment tool for social innovation scrutiny, an offline toolkit comprising co-working exercises and group dynamics with major attention on the recent CEN/TS 16555-5 innovation management standard. Based on our background research in the partner countries, currently there is no such a multi-lingual open learning portal in Europe that enables a complex methodological, theoretical and practical training on social innovation like the one described in Coop-in project. Furthermore, the application of the European Innovation Management Standard on Collaboration Management in VET is a novelty as well. The standard ensures a systematic approach for VET training and enables the development of strategic business partnership between corporate sector, VET providers and educational institutions.

The project includes IOs, 1. Capacity building for SENSES Teachers: A completed package, 2. SEI happening to All students: An engagement package 3. The SENSES Digital Environment, 4. National workshops in the 5 countries, UK, Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Italy, a final conference, 5. Dissemination results A generation ago, teachers could expect that what they taught would last their students lifetime. However, we live in a fast-changing world, and producing more of the same knowledge and skills will not suffice to address the challenges of the future. Today, because of the rapid economic and social change, schools have to prepare students for jobs that have not yet been created, technologies that have not yet been invented and problems that we don’t know yet. Empowering teachers & students with skills for social innovation and entrepreneurship is particularly important for the sustainable development of European societies. This is also reflected in as series of documents (e.g.British Council, ‘Social entrepreneurship in education, empowering the next generation to address society’s needs’) as also in the published EC report (2016) on “entrepreneurship education at school” which highlights that: ‘member states should foster innovation and entrepreneurial skills through new and creative ways of teaching and learning from primary school focus to higher education’ Europe is facing various challenges (financial crisis, migration, unemployment, human rights abuses, etc.) underlying the urgent need for the creation of new solutions and the adoption of new paradigms for change that will promote sustainable growth and job creation as well as improve societal conditions such as inequality, poverty and social exclusion. The education of students on the applicability of social entrepreneurial fields is highly necessary especially for the creation of new venture with a social cause. A school education with the development of activities to inspire the potential entrepreneurs, in order to encourage them to set up their new social enterprises, and become the new social entrepreneurs and innovators are more than welcome. SENSES will develop a new educational approach in primary education that will strengthen on the one the teachers with knowledge and skills to lead their students to a social entrepreneurship and innovation spirit and, on the other the capacity and skills of children from all backgrounds to develop entrepreneurial mindsets and design innovative solutions to social problems (e.g. environmental consciousness, gender equality, minorities integration). In other words, the suggested educational model will aim to create the future social innovators and social entrepreneurs of Europe by drawing on today’s unprecedented technological and professional resources to engage all students, develop their love of learning, and enable them to face the real challenges of the 21st centurySENSES responds to the ‘aspect’ that teachers are the heart of our education system and it is that knowledge, skills, expertise of teachers that can facilitate children’s learning, or inspiring the passion for social entrepreneurship and innovation. Our project’s main principle is that if the benefits of social entrepreneurship in education are to be enjoyed by as many as possible children, then TEACHERS need to be at the heart of that delivery. Investing in teachers’ understanding and knowledge of SEI, is the way of maximizing the number of children understanding and being immersed in the ‘world’ of social entrepreneurship & innovation. Providing also children with that kind of practical context and connection with real world challenges, in order for them to identify social issues and develop solutions, constitutes major axe for our project In this context, SENSES addresses the following objectives:a) to provide teachers with knowledge for SEI and skills of transferring and applying this knowledge within their classroom additionally, guidelines and methodology of developing students core social entrepreneurship & innovation perceptions and skillsb) to cultivate to students at Primary Education, ages 7-12, (including those of marginalized backgrounds) structured competences of social entrepreneurship and innovation contexts with the mission to develop adaptable thinkers, collaborative problem solvers, and irrepressible social innovators; accordingly to contextualize for them proper, educational opportunities for their SEI engagementc) to create and deliver innovative products and teaching/learning methods, targeting school communities in 5 countries, UK-Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Italy- with various needs and national educational contexts and highly transferable to EU context.
