Citizens, in their daily lives, are at the heart of this transition to a climate-neutral society: how we produce and consume, how we heat or cool our homes, how we travel, how we eat, how we work and finally how we live together. The success of the Green Deal, the achievement of carbon neutrality, will only be possible with the participation of all and in all economic and social areas, the Commission reminds us.Youth and European volunteering is a sector that can actively contribute to this, particularly because young people are ready for it, they are motivated and they are asking for their voice and their desire for commitment to be taken into account more in the programmes offered to them. This is the ambition of the Youth Goal 10 and an axis of the European youth strategy.Young people express their desire to play a more important role in this issue and wish to- Understand : to have trustworthy sources of information adapted to young people- Learn : to benefit from environmental and sustainable development education for young people within youth organisations (and in other settings). - Act : increase opportunities for environmental volunteering and support youth-led initiatives for the environment and climate change<< Objectives >>Addressing the needs of young people in terms of understanding, learning and taking action for the environment and the fight against climate change is one of the objectives of the European Volunteers for the Environment project: - Informing volunteers about the green deal and how their volunteering can contribute to developing their environmental attitudes and skills - Translate the climate pact into youth work and train youth workers to implement actions in the field or integrating the environmental dimension - Identify and gather good practices and pedagogical tools that can inspire youth workers and multiply the impact - Strengthen the skills of volunteer tutors on the Green deal, the climate pact and the notion of environmental competence - Invite and encourage host organisations to offer opportunities for engagement with the environment - Promote and make visible the actions of volunteers in favour of the environment<< Implementation >>These objectives will be pursued throughout the 30 months of the project, by bringing together the skills and expertise of 4 European partners and implementing specific actions:- analysis, research and conclusion to refine expectations and needs, develop tools and contents that fully meet the expectations and realities of young people and youth organisations/workers- explain the Green Deal and its concrete translation into the work of a volunteer tutor through the creation of micro-learning on the subject- to increase youth workers' skills and knowledge on the issues of the green deal and how youth work (and young people) can actively participate in it- create a platform dedicated to making accessible and visible opportunities for concrete environmental engagement across Europe- To stimulate action by young people, especially volunteers, around a high visibility action on the ""All for Environmental Action Day"" (United Nations)- inspire and share through the promotion of good practices in the field at European level. In addition to the production of educational content and methods, a European and local training programme will be set up for volunteer tutors (hybrid training) and youth workers. If the project ends, each partner will organise a major dissemination event of the project results, for the professional of their local community. All of the work in the European Volunteers for the Environment project is designed to have an impact, to reach the project's target groups and to provide young people with a response that is not just temporary. A very active dissemination, with a European dimension, supported by events such as the EVEday on 5 June and the dissemination of our pedagogical productions will participate in the creation of an informal but active network of European youth work actors and professionals in favour of the inclusion of environmental education and the fight against climate change in volunteering.<< Results >>It is a strong goal of EVE that an increasing number of volunteer missions allow this time of engagement to be an opportunity for young people to learn about the environment at the same time.It is translated in an operational way by the production of results which contribute to it, such as- a guidance and opportunities document on ""Environmental and climate change education in youth work and European volunteering"", a guiding and supporting document for decision makers and youth work operators- 1 e-learning platform and 11 micro-learning modules- 2 training curricula (1 for youth workers, 1 for volunteer tutors)- 1 mapping of engagement opportunities in GIS format- 1 digital guide of inspiring good practices- 1 European meeting to promote youth engagement, EVEday, on 5 June each year (3 events during the project)- 4 national training courses- 1 hybrid training for tutors- 4 dissemination events- 1 European communication campaign for youth organisations and volunteer tutorsIn terms of results the EVE project also aims at - an evolution of youth work and a better consideration of environmental realities and expectations - strengthening the knowledge and skills of youth workers and tutors- the development of mentoring around environmental competence among young people- a better knowledge, understanding and appropriation of the Green Deal among young people- a strengthening of the feeling of European citizenship among young people- a dynamic between European associations and a sharing of resources on the subject- local, regional and national impacts- participation of the youth sector in achieving the objectives of the Green Deal- EVE's contribution to the objectives of the European Youth Strategy"

Organizations across the European Union are continually under stress to meet deadlines, implement projects, and conduct workshops in the community. In promoting the EU values, a lot of work can add up for NGO’s and Youth Associations with limited time, staff and resources. This can be especially true for newer organizations involved with mobility projects. Perhaps they have less experience in volunteer support or fewer capacities in general. A big part of this entire process are international volunteers and their work in each respective organization. International volunteers bring a unique perspective, creative thinking, and energy into organizations. International volunteers are also hoping to personally grow during their experience. International volunteering promotes new skills, innovation, and European values. In order to best facilitate this growth, organizations need to be equipped with tools that are practical and simple to implement. Rise in Quality recognizes that with the limitations faced, staff cannot always spend the time they desire on training, workshops, or reading best practices for supporting volunteers. In establishing basic standards, organizations can find an increase in volunteer satisfaction, therefore contributing to an increase in project quality. The two main outputs of this project are a volunteer support guidebook and template for an online induction training. Both outputs will be created through an inclusive, collaborative effort and available for youth workers to utilize transnationally. Through strategic partnership, the hope of this project is to:· Strengthen organizations’ capacity to support international volunteers · Improve support for hosting international volunteers;· Ease the stress of volunteer management· Increase solidarity throughout partner organizations and all hosting organizations;· Promote active citizenship and volunteering;· To achieve these results, Rise in Quality will work on these objectives: Support capacity building of youth workers and participating organizations;Develop innovative practices in working with international volunteers;Increase quality of youth work in participating organizations by applying developed intellectual outputs;Promote active citizenship, volunteering and solidarity The specific activities involved are:1. The short staff mobility: a training course on coordinating and supporting volunteers in crisis situations;2. The short staff mobility: a training course on how to prepare on arrival induction for volunteers in host organizations through online training;3. Job shadowing and exchange of experiences and good practices;4. Developing a volunteer support guidebook and on line induction training for international volunteers;5. Multiplier event and dissemination activities

With the advent of the internet, and especially with the ""youtube"" model and online courses, learning became more specific and personal, not so much directed by a structure or institution, but rather the individual deciding what he or she needed to learn and how to learn it. Formal education assimilated the new model changes too slowly: on the one hand, long-term curricula continued (over 3, 4 or 5 years), designed from above, with little student participation and little flexibility according to a labour market in constant innovation and change. On the other hand, it was understood that ""digital natives"" had ""natural"" access to this medium and therefore needed little training from adults who, on the other hand, were heirs to a system in which education was part of a stage of life and were not so permeable to change and constant learning. Sometimes adults had to learn from the young people themselves how to use the new tools. Therefore, we need a different approach to learning, one that considers the integration of online and face-to-face as an unavoidable new reality, that divides learning into modular pieces that serve as the rungs of a ladder (rather than long blocks that are difficult to assimilate) and also that helps young people to be aware of their learning, motivates them to use new technologies in a rational way and accompanies them in a process of constant growth. The goal of the LEVEL UP project is:To create online and face-to-face activities for young people to develop modular learning that facilitates their employability.<< Objectives >>The specific objectives we aim to achieve with the project are: -To help young people to develop transversal competences that increase their entrepreneurship and employability. To develop new non-formal learning strategies combining online and offline learning in European organisations.-To create innovative resources for modular learning competences.-Helping young people to understand and appreciate their strengths and create realistic, motivating and useful learning pathways.-Inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities through the possibility to access free, flexible and tutored training to develop their competences.<< Implementation >>1. 3 transnational meetings in Lorca (miniMOOCs recording meeting), Pardubice (miniMOOCs preparation meeting) and Rome (evaluation meeting).2. 3 online project coordination meetings.3. Creation of a Youth Mentor Manual for youth workers to support the learning process of the young people during the implementation of the Modular miniMOOCs course.4. 1 Mentor training course in Lorca to train youth workers on how to use the Youth Mentor Manual created in the project.5. Creation of a MODULAR MINI-MOOCS COURSE that can be integrated with face-to-face activities.6. Testing and correction phase of the MINI-MOOCS MODULAR COURSE.7. 4 1-day multiplier events of the project results in Lorca (Spain), Antibes (France), Pardubice (Czech Republic) and Rome (Italy).<< Results >>The results of the project are, on the one hand the tangible results, which will be produced as a consequence of the intellectual products (the modular course and the manual for coaches) and on the other hand the materials that will be produced for the course, and on the other hand intangible results are also expected, as a consequence of the joint work and activities within and outside the organisations in the framework of the Level up! project. We can define the following tangible results:-A modular course in one section within the youthmooc.eu platform-A minimum of 9 mini-moocs organised in 3 modules.Development of personal learning contents, access to the labour market and development of competences for the new working environment, which can be used online as well as in face-to-face activities. -Introductory explanatory videos on topics relevant to the employability of young people.-A handbook to encourage and support youth workers to be mediators of young people's online learning.-Graphic material, photos and videos of the training course for youth mentors.-Collection of activities and good practices shared during the youth mentoring course.Quality content that generates more traffic to the website www.youth-mooc.eu, so that participants can continue their learning with other courses already hosted on the platform or to be uploaded in the future.Non-formal learning platform available in new languages: Italian, French and Czech. The intangible results of the project are as follows12 professionals trained to support young people in hybrid learning that combines online and face-to-face learning and helps them in their labour market insertion.-Increased capacity in organisations to design, record and facilitate online courses.-Minimisation of the digital divide for young people participating in the moocs (40 young people expected to participate in the implementation workshops and a minimum of 100 young Europeans accessing the platform).-Increased efficiency and quality of online cooperation between partners, which will have a direct positive impact on the organisations and also on the care of the planet.-Empowerment of young people, who will become responsible for their own learning thanks to a modular and tutored approach.-Increased opportunities for young people to find employment, thus improving their standard of living and independence.-Inspiration for other organisations to run miniMOOCS and also a suitable space to host them online."

AKADEMIE FUR LANDSCHAFTSKULTUR-DEUTSCHAND E.V.,PISTES SOLIDAIRES,Social Farms & Gardens,REPLAY Network,EVROPAIKO KENTRO KATARTISIS GIA TIN APASCHOLISI ANONYMI EKPAIDEFTIKI ETAIREIAFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2017-1-IT01-KA202-006146Funder Contribution: 308,040 EUR"Gardeniser pro was a strategic partnership project for the development of innovation for a total duration of 35 months, involving 5 organisations from 5 European countries: REPLAY NETWORK (IT) as applicant and coordinator, Pistes Solidaires (FR), Social Farms & Gardens (UK), PETRARCA - Europeishe Akademie fur Landschaftskultur-Deutschland e.v. (DE), ECTE - European Center in Training for Employment (GR). The objective of Gardeniser pro was to create and test an innovative and European training path to support the professional development of a new figure, the one of Community Urban Gardens coordinator (garden-organizer = GARDENISER), that could strengthen soft and technical skills and experiment their validation through the ECVET system, in order to prepare the ground for the recognition of this innovative profile within the Education and Training Systems at regional and national level, increasing employability. In line with the priority initiative of the Europe 2020 ""strategy agenda for new skills and new jobs"", the profession of Gardeniser can be counted among the so-called ""green jobs"", finding in fact its natural collocation within this new and strategic working sector, high employment potential, which is called ‘green economy’. The main direct beneficiaries of Gardeniser pro were young people and adults involved in Community Urban Gardens, in both the public and private sectors, and who want to enrich or integrate the skills needed to play the role of Community Urban Gardens coordinator. Gardeniser pro has succeeded, through international cooperation between partners with diversified backgrounds and expertise in the field of education, urban gardens and vocational training, to build a transferable European format in VET field, thanks to the ECVET credit system, and the creation of a Gardeniser Licence that can be achieved through this path. The online platform GARDENISER.EU (IO4) has been created to connect the profiles of gardenisers who have obtained, or will obtain in the future, the licence and the network of national and international urban gardens, as a tool to facilitate the meeting between job supply and demand. It has been enriched by info sections addressed to diversified publics (from institutions to citizens), allowing gardenisers to have online references useful to give support to their personal branding. Additional services have been activated, targeted directly to community gardens (info-pages easy to update and translated automatically, geo-localized maps) and aimed to reinforce their action (toolbox and e-learning on good practices). The quality and homogeneity of the training format (IO2) and the related validation system (IO3) was ensured by an international training for trainers (C1) through which 2 trainers for each organisation have been trained and prepared (IO1) to transfer ad adapt Gardeniser pro course, previously studied and developed. Once the pool of European trainers was established, the Gardeniser pro training pathway at local level involved 24 trainers that delivered the TC to 101 aspirant gardenisers selected among the 214 candidates in all partner countries. An important part of the training path was an internship experience at local level and, for 8 of the participants of each organisation, at international level in the community gardens involved by the partner organisations. In this way participants could improve, through practice, specific and transversal skills and, for those who had the opportunity to go abroad, provided an opportunity for internationalization. The experimentation was also useful to build the conditions for a sustainable action even after the end of the project, thanks to the synergies built, in this specific professional field, between public and private actors. An example of this is the recognition of SF&G as a ""national training provider"" on the figure of the Gardeniser, initiated by the British Ministry of Education, and the start of the procedures to include the new professional figure in the repertoire in Italy, with the commitment of the Lazio Region to apply to the State-Regions Conference, being able to count on the support of the Region of Tuscany, actively involved in with the project ""100.000 community gardens in Tuscany"".Gardeniser pro managed to reach more than 30.000 people interested in the theme promoted by the project, to see 53 community urban gardens directly involved in the activities, among the 1.871 who followed it and who in turn disseminated information to 11.310 citizens (gardeners, active members and sympathizers)."
